After major injury the body's clot-dissolving system often runs out of control (hyperfibrinolysis), breaking down the very clots that are keeping the patient alive. Tranexamic acid (TXA) blocks this process. In large international trials it reduced deaths from traumatic bleeding — with the benefit concentrated in the first hours, and greatest when given within one hour. It is cheap, stable without refrigeration, and given through an ordinary IV line: a genuinely upazila-friendly life-saving drug.
